Melissa Sosa-Longo is an accomplished and highly-focused philanthropy leader with expertise in major gift and capital campaign fundraising. As a leading expert in her field, she has helped small and large nonprofits achieve their goals through major gift and capital campaigns, board development, annual fund campaigns, direct mail and planned gift solicitations. Melissa has raised over $185 million during her 25 year career. Her approach to providing strategic direction, training and utilizing best practices has helped to garner transformational gifts, including a $100 million gift to establish a new autoimmune center. She is a seasoned fundraising executive with a strong vision and passion to help nonprofit organizations achieve breakthrough results and exceed organizational goals. Prior to 360 Philanthropy Group, she served as the Vice President of Major Gifts of the Children’s Tumor Foundation. There she led all aspects of building a major giving program including strategic planning, grant making, training development staff and board volunteers, budgeting, and donor recruitment and retention. Before that, she served as the Senior Director of Development at NYU Langone Medical Center and was responsible for the Musculoskeletal division’s $60 million capital campaign; as well as a Director of Development at Children’s Rights, a national organization advocating on behalf of abused and neglected children in the U.S. Melissa holds a BA in Political Science from Brooklyn College. She served on the Board of Directors for Boricua Festival, as well as Advisory Boards for: United Hospital Fund, Hispanic Federation, National Puerto Rican Forum, Soles4Souls Puerto Rico, and Big Brothers Big Sisters -NYC Chapter. She is involved with Seventeen22 Foundation and Shoe4Africa. Melissa lives in New York City with her husband and son.
